Chickpea Chip Smoothie

You'd never guess that the secret ingredient in this tasty smoothie is chickpeas. Once blended, the chickpeas add an extra level of creaminess alongside the sweet dates and nut butter. Not only are the chickpeas flavorful, but they also provide a good source of vegan fiber and protein without the need for protein powder. I like to add a bit of optional banana peel (it's edible!) as well for even more nutrients.

Shopping List
  • 1 frozen banana (with or without peel)
  • 66666667/100000000 cup non-dairy milk
  • 33333333/100000000 cup cooked chickpeas
  • 2 medjool dates, pitted
  • 2 tablespoons nut or seed butter (any kind)
  • cacao nibs or mini vegan chocolate chips, to taste

Instructions
  1. Step 1: Place all ingredients, except the chocolate, in a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy. Add more milk for a thinner consistency. Stir in the cacao or chocolate chips.
  2. Serve: Pour a glass and enjoy.
