Crispy tofu tossed in a spicy-sweet glaze made from honey (or maple), sriracha, and garlic. We especially love making this with Chickpea Tofu!

  1. Step 1: If using the extra-firm tofu option, drain the box of tofu and press the liquid out of the tofu. You can use a tofu press or wrap the tofu in clean towels and place under a heavy weight. Press for 15 minutes.
  2. Step 2: Dice the tofu of choice into bite-sized pieces. Coat the pieces on all sides in the starch.
  3. Step 3: Heat a splash of cooking oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu in a single layer. It should sizzle on contact with the oil. Cook until golden and crispy, about 2 to 3 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate when done. Repeat this step in batches until all of the tofu is cooked.
  4. Step 4: Drain any excess oil out of the pan. Stir together the honey, 1 tablespoon of cooking oil, garlic, and sriracha in a small bowl. Heat the pan back up and add the honey mixture. Add the tofu back in and toss to coat everything in the glaze.
  5. Serve: Top with optional sesame seeds and enjoy over rice.
