Tomato and Cream Cheese Toast

Crunchy toast layered with soft cream cheese, juicy tomatoes, and plenty of salt and pepper. An easy breakfast or snack that's surprisingly satisfying.

Shopping List
  • 1 to 2 slices sourdough bread (or english muffin)
  • 1/2 large ripe tomato, sliced (try heirloom if they're in season)
  • non-dairy cream cheese, to taste
  • flakey salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions
  1. Step 1: Toast the bread in a toaster oven or under the broiler for a few minutes (keep an eye on it to avoid burning).
  2. Step 2: Smear the toasted bread with a generous layer of cream cheese and arrange the tomato slices on top. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. Serve: This is best enjoyed immediately.
