Easy Gluten-Free Flour Blend

Any easy, 5-ingredient (or 4-ingredient) gluten-free flour blend for substituting traditional all-purpose flour. Nut-free and no xanthan gum required. This will make a little over 2.75 cups of flour blend.

Shopping List
  • 1 cup brown rice flour
  • 66666667/100000000 cup sorghum flour (Note 2)
  • 1/2 cup potato starch
  • 33333333/100000000 cup tapioca starch
  • 33333333/100000000 cup white rice flour

Instructions
  1. Step 1: Whisk together all ingredients and store in a cool, dry place.
  2. Serve: In general, use this flour blend in place of traditional flour in a 1:1 ratio. It excels with Scuffins, Strawberry Cupcakes, and Hummingbird Cake.

Note 2: I love the texture that sorghum gives to gluten-free baked goods, but if you cannot find it in time for your recipe, you can substitute the sorghum with an equal amount of additional white rice flour (making this a 4-ingredient flour blend). For more information on substituting flours according to their weights, this post by Fork and Beans is quite handy.
