  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup cane or coconut sugar (double it for very sweet, Note 1)
  • 1 orange peel
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger powder (optional)

  2. Step 2: Reduce the heat to medium, cover with a lid, and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes. Stir regularly, lightly mashing the burst cranberries with the spatula.
  3. Serve: Transfer the thick and chunky sauce to a serving bowl. Pick out the orange peel and chill until ready to serve. This is delicious over Sweet Potato Lentil Loaf.

Recipe Notes

Note 1: This will make a very tart cranberry sauce, which is ideal for people who don't prefer a sweet sauce. If you prefer it sweet, try using 3/4 cup up to 1 cup of sugar. Your ideal amount will differ according to your specific palette.
